The primary performing group for the Air Force Band of the Pacific – Hawaii is the popular music ensemble, Hana Hou.Â
The band also spotlights its jazz combos and individual musicians, incorporating a variety of sounds for concert and protocol events. Vocalists and bugler add a touch of class to military ceremonies throughout the islands. Â Â
The U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific – Hawaii is led by Chief Master Sgt. Sharon K. Johnson.Â
A native of Sidney, Iowa, she joined the Air Force in 1980 as a vocalist with the Heartland of America Band at Offutt AFB, Neb. Her career included assignments at Clark AB, Republic of the Philippines, Hickam AFB, Hawaii and Scott AFB, Ill. Â
In June 2006, Johnson became the fourth director for the U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific – Hawaii setting new standards in musical excellence for the Hawaii military and civilian communities.
