Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Acting Athletic Director Dr. Luoluo Hong announced that the Athletic Department will be instituting an annual award to recognize the Vulcan Volunteer of the Year. The nominees and award recipients will be recognized at the All-Sports Banquet to be hosted at the end of April.

“With tough budget times facing us, our Department could not run without the selfless dedication, hard work, and generous efforts of the community members,” Hong said. “Volunteers help coach our student-athletes, staff our home events, assist us with running concessions, and fundraising on our behalf. They are part of the foundation of Vulcan Athletics. This award will be our way of letting them know their contributions have not gone unnoticed.”

Nominations will come from the coaches, staff and student-athletes in the Athletic Department, and a small committee will select the finalists.
