With less than 8 seconds remaining, the Kamehameha Schools – Hawaii girls basketball team saw its championship dreams crumble H at the HHSAA Girls Basketball Division II State Championships Friday, Feb. 27 at Blaisdell Arena.

Molokai had possession and a foul by Kamehameha sent Molokai to the foul line. Hitting the first shot gave Molokai a 45-42 lead and the Kamehameha last-gasp shot bounced off the rim.

It was the Warriors third state tournament appearance. They won the championship in 2005 and returned to following year, but could not defend their title.
