Ke Alii Pauahi Foundation offers dozens of scholarships

More than 45 college and other post-high school scholarships will be available through April 1 for eligible applicants through Ke Alii Pauahi Foundation, a non-profit support organization to Kamehameha Schools.

Scholarship applications are open to the general public, including students who are not graduates of Kamehameha Schools. The Randy Wayne Ahuna Scholarship for those pursuing a degree in social work, social sciences or  ministry and the Native Hawaiian Hookipa Scholarship for those pursuing a leadership career in Hawaii’s travel industry are among the newest scholarships being offered for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Most scholarships are for individuals who are classified, full-time student at an accredited institution. Applicants must also be enrolled in a two- or four-year post-high school degree program and demonstrate satisfactory academic achievement and merit.

Additionally, certain scholarships may require applicants to demonstrate financial need. Select scholarships are also available to individuals who are enrolled on a part-time basis, or attending an accredited vocational or trade institution. The online scholarship application must be completed on or before April 1. Required documents must be hand-delivered to the foundation’s office no later than April 1.
