West Hawaii Dance Academy is pleased to offer a  special “mini performance” of the Classic Ballet “Sleeping Beauty” for the Kona Coast Shopping Center Book Fair at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28

With music by Peter Tchaikovsky,  choreography adapted by WHDA’s Artistic Director Virginia Holte and instructor Midori Satoh and the ageless story, re-written by Shivah “Tutu” Carlyle and narrated by Gregg Knapp, is sure to enchant children and adults alike. 

Performers are West Hawaii Dance Academy students Jeanne Kapela, Kiki Kozuma, Anna Kali’a Smith, Alexis De Villa, Jessica Lloyd, Tai King, and veteran professional Keahi Kapela.

Proceeds from the event benefit Friends of the Library, Kona.

West Hawaii Dance Academy and Theatre is a non-profit organization and is supported in part by the state Foundation on Culture and the Arts, Hawaii Community Foundation, Vance Wall Foundation, and local businesses and families.
