A male resident was sleeping in a bedroom and awoke to find thick black smoke coming from the living room and kitchen area and attempted to extinguish the fire but it was too large. The man left the structure as fire/rescue crews arrived. The fire department determined that approximately 80% of the 3,500 square-foot home was burnt upon arrival of their units with heavy interior damage. Estimated loss is at $340,000.
