Hastings & Pleadwell: A Communication Company (H&P) and Gum Design, a web development company are co-presenting the workshop specifically designed for small businesses to get a leg up on new online marketing strategies. Both firms have offices on Hawai‘i Island.

“Ten years ago having a web site was the equivalent of posting a flier at your neighborhood café,” Barbra Pleadwell, partner of Hastings & Pleadwell said. “Now, we are using the web to do much more than post information and conduct ecommerce.”

“We’re building communities and reaching networks much bigger than what’s possible through traditional communication,” said Christian Engelhardt, partner of Gum Design.
H&P has been working with clients for twelve years on holistic communication strategies. In recent years their work in the area of online reputation management has been recognized by International Association of Business Communicators and Public Relations Society of America. Gum Design has been part of this evolving industry since 1996. The web development firm takes ideas and translates them to web technology.

High Technology Development Corporation is a state agency established by the Hawaii State Legislature in 1983 to facilitate the development and growth of Hawaii’s commercial high technology industry.
