Kona Christmas parade Saturday evening

Kailua Kona Community Christmas Parade begins 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, from Kona Kekuaokalani Gym along Alii Drive to Coconut Grove Marketplace.

The parade boasts 62 entries, with lights, music, floats, dogs, keiki, and at least one horse (possibly miniature).

Aunty Fanny Au Hoy of Hulihee Palace is this year’s grand marshal in recognition of her dedication and service to the Kona community.

Announcing stations are at West Hawaii Today (with a visit from Santa at 4:30 p.m. to hear from keiki); King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel; Life Church above Shave Ice; Pancho & Lefty’s; Kimo’s (with magic by The Greak Barusky and Arneleo before the parade); Waterfront Row (with music before and after), Lava Java; and the new Las Olas Restaurant, formerly Rio’s Restaurant, in Coconut Grove.
