A magnitude 3.5 earthquake was reported at 4:53 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 near Kaena Point, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The depth was reported at 5.2 miles and the exact location was 6 miles west-northwest of Kaena Piont.
It was the first earthquake to measure more than a magnitude of 3.0 since a 3.0 temblor was recorded northeast of Pahala the afternoon of Nov. 24.
