Chamber orchestra’s free concert

The Chamber Orchestra of Kona launches its third season with a free holiday concert 1 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 7 at Kona International Marketplace.

Under the direction of Lisa Archuletta, the concert will feature traditional holiday music, as well as several pieces by classical composers, variations on some familiar themes and a sing-along.

The Chamber Orchestra of Kona was founded in August 2003 to create a musical performance outlet for West Hawaii musicians – from advanced students to professionals to retirees who play for  the love of music. Affiliated with Aloha Performing Arts Company, rehearsals are Tuesday evenings in Kailua-Kona.

Interested musicians, particularly string, clarinet, percussion and low brass players, may call 325-1940.
