Big Island police are looking for a 16-year-old boy reported missing.
Chance Gorelangton failed to return to his Kamuela home on December 2. He is described as about 5-foot-6, about 150 pounds, with black straight hair, brown eyes and a tan complexion. He was last seen wearing blue surf shorts and a black-and-white checkered sweatshirt.

The Hawaiʻi Police Department will hold a community meeting on Wednesday, January 11, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Hawaiian Homes hall in Waimea.
The purpose of the meeting is to allow the public to meet the Police Department’s command staff and to discuss concerns with the police chief and commanders who oversee police operations in the South Kohala District.

In the girls championship match Freshman Gabbie Ewing scored in overtime off a pass from sophomore Nanea Tavares in the 94th minute to wrap up the title for Hawaii Preparatory Academy over Mid-Pacific Sunday (Nov 27).
For the boys championship the Kealakehe Waveriders edged Iolani 1-0 in penalty kicks on the eighth shooter to claim the boys title.

The Hawaii Prep girls beat King Kekauliki 4-2 in Saturday’s match at the 40th Anuual Ka Makani Soccer Classic. The Ka Makani girls will meet Mid-Pacific in a championship match at 9:45 a.m. Sunday (Nov 27). All matches are being played at Hawaii Preparatory Academy in Waimea.
In boys action Saturday the Kealakehe Waveriders beat the Honokaa Dragons 3-2. The Waveriders advance to the boys championship game against Iolani at 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

This year’s parade will be – as always – the first Saturday of the month — Dec. 3, 2011, but will begin a half hour earlier than ever before – at 5:30 p.m. — to encourage youth groups and other walking units to participate. Waimea’s Christmas parade “signature” of a convoy of festively trucks from all over the island will again join the fun, as will HELCO’s Toys For Tots Train, Hawai’i County Police and Fire Departments and most important of all to keiki – North Hawai’i Community Hospital’s Santa Float.
