Hawaii Red Cross recruiting disaster volunteers

The Hawaii Red Cross is recruiting disaster volunteers on the islands of Oahu, Big Island, Maui, Kauai, Lanai, and Molokai. “A critical piece in preparing our local communities for disasters like Iselle before they occur is having trained volunteers on standby and ready to respond,” said Coralie Chun Matayoshi, CEO, Hawaii Red Cross.

This year we commemorate the first September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. The tragic events of September 11, 2001 inspired Americans to come together in a remarkable spirit of unity and compassion. It was a stark reminder that our fate as individuals is inherently tied to the fate of our nation.
