The woman who died Tuesday (May 7) from injuries she received in a one-vehicle crash on North Kaniku Drive at the entrance of the Fairmont Orchid Hotel has been identified as 25-year-old woman Pamela Sue Gorman of Hāwī.

In conjunction with the 50th Annual Merrie Monarch Festival, a temporary one-way traffic pattern will be in effect on Kalanikoa Street in Hilo.
Traffic will be allowed to flow in the makai, or northerly, direction on Kalanikoa Street between Piʻilani Street and Kuawa Street during the festival. The one-way traffic pattern will remain in effect around the clock beginning at noon Wednesday, April 3, and ending at 8 a.m. Sunday, April 7.
