Police graduate 85th recruit class Thursday (June 15)

Congratulations are in order to the 85th Recruit Class of the Hawai`i Police Department who were honored yesterday (June 15) at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel surrounded by proud family, friends and colleagues. Graduates are Debney Jaramillo, Erica Carballo, Jarrin Okutsu, Bryson Arquitola-Takiue, Lawrence Yeung, and Adam Hanes.

20 recruits join Hawaii County Police force

The Hawaiʻi Police Department’s 80th Recruit Class was recognized Wednesday (March 6) during ceremonies held at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel. The 20 police recruits, who just completed six months of intensive training, will undergo four months of on-the-job field training with veteran police officers before they are qualified to work alone.

The Hawaii Fire Department held commencement exercises for its 38th Fire Fighter Recruit Class on Saturday, September 19, 2009, at the Hilo Yacht Club in Hilo.

The new Fire Fighters are: Jason Habu, West Hawthorne, Paul Higgins, Roland Laliberte, Jeffrey Maki, Andrew Miller, Tyler Nagamine, Christopher Olayon, Jared Spencer, Waylen Towata, and Damien-Joseph Wengler-Ioane.
