Winter Weather Advisory for Hawaii Island summits

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Friday (Dec 8) for Hawaii Island summits above 12,000 feet.

Madeline’s maximum sustained winds have increased to near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Madeline could become a hurricane Sunday night or Monday.
