Final autopsy results determined that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head and that the manner of death was suicide.

Firefighters responded to a 10:35 alarm Thursday (April 28) to an area near Hualalai Road and Kuakini Highway in Kailua-Kona for a brush fire.

Arriving crews found about 1.5 acres burning with 5 mph winds blowing from the west pushing the fire mauka.

The Hawaii Police Department reports that the partial closure of the right turn lane from the Queen Kaahumanu Hwy onto Kealakehe Parkway is now open. The previous closure was due to a traffic accident just south or on the Kailua-Kona town side of this intersection. All lanes are now open.

A 36-year-old man died Monday (February 8) after jumping off a cliff into waters off Kailua-Kona. 

He has been identified as William H. Holman of Auburn, Washington. 

In response to an 11:38 a.m. call, police learned that Holman jumped into the ocean at Lekeleke Bay, also known as "End of the World," and then cried out for help before disappearing into the water.

Jolee Reiswig was last seen in Hilo in the early evening hours on Monday, September 14, 2015. She had been swimming with a companion in the Wailuku River at a location known as Boiling Pots when she was last seen.
