Hawaiʻi Island police have charged a second suspect in connection with a burglary on Queen Kalama Avenue in Kailua-Kona on April 5.
Ammon K. Kamohai, 22, of Kailua-Kona was initially arrested Monday afternoon (April 22) on two warrants for revoking probation in a drug case and on suspicion of promoting a dangerous drug. He was also wanted for questioning in connection with additional felonies.

In response to numerous community complaints, police executed a narcotics search warrant Monday (March 4) at a residence on the 77-6500 block of Seaview Circle in Kailua-Kona. The Area II Vice Section worked in conjunction with Community Policing officers from Kona and the Department of Attorney General’s Drug Nuisance Abatement Unit.

A 67-year-old Kona woman apparently drowned Wednesday (February 20) in waters near the Kailua Pier.
She was identified as Nga Angie Prieto of Kailua-Kona.
In response to a 9:30 a.m. call of a possible drowning, officers determined that a woman swimming near buoy No. 3 had discovered Prieto floating face down and unresponsive.

A 41-year-old Japanese national reported that he was walking to his hotel with friends at about 2:30 a.m. when he was attacked by the three suspects at the intersection of Aliʻi Drive and Likana Lane. They knocked the victim to the ground, punched and kicked him and stole his fanny pack.

Hawaiʻi Island police are searching for a 47-year-old man who was last seen in Hilo yesterday ( January 31) at 4:00 p.m.
Viktor Goy of Kailua-Kona left his home yesterday at 9:30 a.m. and has not been seen or heard from since an afternoon appointment in Hilo.

A Kona man has been charged with 11 offenses as the result of a robbery investigation.
On December 16, police responded to a 7:30 p.m. report of a robbery. Responding officers determined that the victim, a 36-year-old Ocean View man, was confronted by the suspect as the victim was coming out of a garage access area at Kona Plaza in downtown Kailua-Kona.
