Hilo Public Library suspends all programs, remains open

MEDIA RELEASE Beginning March 16, 2020, scheduled library programming is canceled due to concerns for COVID-19/ coronavirus. Per the State Librarian, we are suspending all library programs and the use of meeting rooms. Basic access to the library, collections, and other services remain unchanged at this time. Please stay tuned for future updates.

Mountain View Library begins revised modified hours on September 18, 2017

Free Comic Book Day at three Hawaii Island libraries Saturday (May 7)

The free Comic books are coming! The free Comic books are coming: “Avengers,” “Pokemon,” “Captain America,” “Grumpy Cat,” “SpongeBob” and “Strawberry Shortcake,” to name a few! The 15th annual Free Comic Book Day event will be celebrated at 22 selected public libraries statewide, including 3 Big Island branches, on Saturday, May 7.

Pahala Library to offer basic computer classes starting Tuesday (April 5)

Pahala Public & School Library will offer free basic computer classes on Tuesday evenings beginning April 5. Two 30-minute sessions will be conducted from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Computer Lab in the Adult Section.
