Hawaii Preparatory Academy will offer a Hawaii Pacific University (HPU) course on the HPA campus during the 2011 fall semester. Analyzing and Writing Arguments (WRI 1100), which will run from September 6 to December 9, is open to Big Island juniors and seniors and adult community members.

PacWest Radio will provide a live worldwide Internet broadcast of the Hawai‘i Hilo at Hawai‘i Pacific softball doubleheader on Saturday, April 30, from Howard A. Okita Field in Kaneohe, HI.
The twinbill will begin at 12 p.m. HT (3 p.m. PDT/4 p.m. MDT) with PacWest Commissioner Bob Hogue and Director of Compliance Wayne Coito calling the games.

In partnership with Hawaii Pacific University, Hawaii Preparatory Academy will offer a dual-enrollment course for spring semester 2011. The class will run from January 18 through May 10.
The course, Introduction to Cultural Anthropology (ANTH 2000), will examine the value of storytelling, why food is more than food, our responsibility as global citizens to the environment, why people who live in Hawaii need to learn about Hawaii, and how your culture and life experience contribute to the well-being of the world.

Kirsta Andrew paced the University of Hawaii at Hilo squad with a seventh place finish at the Hawaii Pacific University Cross Country Invitational outside of Kualoa Ranch on Oahu.
Andrew finished the 5k course in 19:46.

Leilani Ramsey broke into the starting line-up in a big way in leading the University of Hawaii at Hilo to 3-0 victory over Hawaii Pacific University in a Pacific West Conference match in Hilo.
Set scores were 25-23, 25-18, 25-17. The Vulcans are 6-3 overall and 1-1 in the PacWest while the Sea Warriors are 7-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

HPU erased a two-run fifth inning deficit to win its first NCAA Division II Softball College World Series title. The Sea Warriors plated four runs in the fifth inning to hold on to beat Valdosta State, 4-3, in the title game.
“What a win,” said Coach Bryan Nakasone. “It was a long road and nothing came easily and especially not this game.”
