Mariah Gonsalves was last seen in Hilo on December 1.

She is described as part Hawaiian, 5-foot-7, 215 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.

She was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt over a pink T-shirt, jeans and gray-and-pink shoes. She was carrying a neon pink/orange duffle bag.

The man who died from injuries sustained in a pedestrian/vehicle crash in Hilo last month has been identified through fingerprints as 64-year-old Gary Hall of Hilo.

Police ask anyone who witnessed the crash on October 3 near the 500 block of Kīlauea Avenue to contact Officer Keith Nacis at 961-8119 or keith.nacis@hawaiicounty.gov.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the island wide Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.

A 92-year-old Hilo woman died following a two vehicle crash Sunday afternoon (October 23) in Hilo.

She was identified as Masako Okano.

Responding to a 12:22 p.m. call, police determined that a 2000 Ford pickup truck was traveling south on Komohana Street and starting to make a left hand turn down Ponahawai Street when it was struck by a 2012 Nissan sedan that was traveling north on Komohana Street.

Halloween Hilo Kids Party moved to Edith Kanakaole Multi-Purpose Stadium

An unidentified man died following a vehicle-pedestrian crash October 3 in Hilo.

His name is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of his family.

Responding to a 7:43 p.m. call, police determined that a 2007 Dodge pickup was traveling south near the 500 block on Kilauea Avenue, when it struck the male pedestrian who was not in a crosswalk.

The pedestrian was taken to Hilo Medical Center for his injuries and then transferred to The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu.
