High surf advisory for north and east facing shores of Hawaii Island

A high surf advisory remains in effect for Hawaii Island north and east shores until 6 p.m. Tuesday (Aug 4). This east swell is generated by Hurricane Guillermo and is expected to peak Monday night. Surf is forecast to be in the eight to 12 foot range tonight and 10-14 feet Monday through Tuesday.

Surf is forecast to be in the five to eight foot range along east facing shores. The surf will be building tonight and continue through Wednesday.
