The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a high surf advisory for South facing shores of all islands until 6 p.m. this evening (July 16).

A low pressure system East of New Zealand last week generated a large swell that will continue to affect the South facing shores of the main Hawaiian Island chain today.

Surf is forecast to be in the five to eight foot range.

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a high surf advisory for South shores of all islands until 6 a.m. Sunday (May 18).

Surf is forecast to be in the four to eight foot level along South shores.

Coastal areas can expect strong breaking waves, shore breaks and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous.
