High surf warning in effect for east facing shores of Hawaii Island and Maui

Large surf via an east-southeast swell generated by Hurricane Hilda will continue along east facing shores of Hawaii Island and east Maui through tonight. Surf is forecast to be in the 10-15 foot range.

Community meetings with Mayor Billy Kenoi will be held in Kohala on June 8, and in Waimea on June 15.

Each of the community meetings is open to the public.
