Nine pitchers were battered for 41 hits as a five-game series between the University of Hawaii at Hilo and Grand Canyon University came down to a non-Pacific West Conference slugfest at Brazell Stadium in Phoenix, Ariz.

UH-Hilo dropped the opening game of a Saturday (March 27) double header against Grand Canyon University 4-8 but came back in the second winning 8-5. Vulcan pitcher Aaron Correa went the distance in the second game striking out four and walking two. Boxscores from the games in Phoenix, Arizona.

The University of Hawaii at Hilo split today’s Pacific West Conference doubleheader with Grand Canyon University at Brazell Stadium in Phoenix, Ariz.

The Vulcans (6-17 overall, 2-12 PacWest) fell 5-0 in the first game then came back to beat the Antelopes (19-16, 10-8) in the nightcap 7-4.
