State Attorney General David Louie informed Governor Neil Abercrombie this afternoon that the appointment of attorney Peter T. Cahill as Judge to the Circuit Court of the Maui Second Circuit was made two days late. 

“The appointment of a judge has to be made within 30 days of the Judicial Selection Commission forwarding the list of applicants to the Governor,” stated Attorney General Louie.

Governor Neil Abercrombie last night signed an agreement with Mr. Yu Ping, Vice Chairman of the China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), to pursue mutual interests in clean energy development. Governor Neil Abercrombie Thursday (Nov 10) joined United Public Workers Local 646 State Director Dayton Nakanelua in announcing that a tentative labor agreement has been reached. The Governor issued the followed statement:

“I couldn’t be more pleased to say today that we’ve come to a conclusion that sets a standard of the kind of approach to negotiations that is based on a spirit of bargaining collectively for the benefit of all of Hawai'i.

Governor Neil Abercrombie today announced Representative Blake Oshiro will be joining Abercrombie Administration as his Deputy Chief of Staff.  Rep. Oshiro, who currently serves in the House of Representatives as its Majority Leader will be stepping down from his seat on December 7, 2011.
