Waimea woman charged with felonies due to forged checks

A 23-year-old Waimea woman has been charged with eight felonies in connection with a stolen checkbook. The victim, a 58-year-old Hōlualoa woman, reported on April 7 that a new checkbook from her bank had been stolen. Police investigation determined that some of the checks were later forged and cashed.

Hilo man charged with theft and forgery

Hawaiʻi Island police have charged 51-year-old Benjamin Fonseca of Hilo, who was arrested Thursday on suspicion of theft and forgery. At 2:15 p.m. Friday (January 17), detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigations Section charged him with one count of second-degree theft and 28 counts of second-degree forgery. His bail was set at $58,000.

Burglary, forgery and various theft charges for Pahoa man

Big Island police have charged a 20-year-old Pāhoa man with burglary and several financial crimes for an incident that occurred last month. On July 15, at about 5 p.m., a couple residing in Nanawale Estates reported that someone had entered their home and removed several items, including personal checks.

Hilo man charged by police for stolen and forged checks

Patrick John Lindsey, 24, was arrested Wednesday (November 16) at Hawaiʻi Community Correctional Center, where he was being held on unrelated charges. He was charged Friday afternoon (November 18) with nine counts of theft, eight counts of forgery and two counts of ID theft. His bail was set at $160,000.
