On Tuesday, January 24th 2012 NFL Football Players and NFL Cheerleaders will be holding Youth Clinics for Hawai`i Island intermediate and high school students at Kealakehe High School from 3:00–5:30 PM and Wednesday, January 25th 2012, at Keaau High School from 3:00–5:30 PM. Players and cheerleaders will also visit a local school for an assembly before the clinics.

The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa has formed a Search Advisory Committee to screen candidates and make recommendations for the vacant Head Football Coach position vacated this week by former head coach Greg McMackin.

University of Hawai’i head football coach Greg McMackin announced his retirement Monday afternoon during a press conference at the Stan Sheriff Center. McMackin’s 44-year coaching career included the past four seasons as head coach of the Warriors and two different stints as UH’s defensive coordinator.

The Kealakehe Waveriders hosted the Leilehua Mules Friday night (Nov 11) in Kona and suffered a 35-24 loss bringing their season to an end. The third seed Lahainalunas defended their home turf with a 23-6 win against the Wildcats. Lahainaluna will meet second seed Waipahu Friday night on Oahu.
