The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for Hawaii Island effective today through this afternoon
A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that may lead to flash flooding. There is a potential for heavy rain and thunderstorms.
Due to the flash flood watch the following are issued:
Residents in flood prone areas as asked to be prepared for and be on the lookout for flood conditions.
Motorists should drive with caution and be on the alert for ponding and debris on the roadways. Be aware that road closures can occur without warning.

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the Big Island effective today through this evening. A High Surf Advisory for Kona, Ka‘u along with North and East shores of the Big Island from 6 a.m. Sunday until 6 p.m. Monday (June 6). The road to Mauna Kea summit is closed due to snow on the roadway.

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a flash flood watch for the Big Island through this afternoon. A high surf advisory is in effect for North and East Hawaii shores through 6 p.m. Friday (April 8). A winter storm warning until 6 p.m. Friday (April 8) for Big Island summits along with a wind advisory. A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Saturday (April 9) for all Big Island coastal waters and the Alehuihaha Channel.
