Police have identified two individuals who died in a two-car crash Thursday (August 4) on the Mohouli Extension near Kukuau Street in Hilo.

The woman has been identified as 20-year-old Alicia Andres of Hilo.

The other deceased person was identified as a 17-year-old boy. Police are not releasing his name because he is a minor.

Hawaiʻi Island police have identified the motorcycle passenger who died Saturday evening (May 9) in a three-vehicle collision on Queen Kaʻahumanu Highway. 

He was identified as 47-year-old Sean Henshaw of Ocean View. 

An autopsy conducted Monday (May 11) determined that Henshaw and the motorcycle operator, 47-year-old Rick Dupont of Kailua-Kona, died of injuries sustained in the accident.

Three people died Saturday morning (Feb 14) in a crash between a pickup truck and car on the Queen Kaahumanu Highway (Hwy 19) near Matsuyama Market/Kohanaiki Business Park. Police reported the highway re-opened at 10:42 a.m.

Two children die in Holualoa fire early Thursday (Jan 29)

Hawaiʻi Island detectives are at the scene of a fatal fire in Hōlualoa. At 1:56 a.m. Thursday (January 29), Kona Patrol officers responded to a residential fire on the 76-5200 block of Old Māmalahoa Highway. When they arrived, the one-story house was fully engulfed in flames. Fire Department personnel extinguished the fire.

A 61-year-old Hilo man and a 65-year-old Hakalau man died Sunday (October 21) from injuries they received after being involved in a two-vehicle crash on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) in the area of the 8-mile-marker north of Hilo.

Both men were drivers of their respective vehicles.

A full-size Ford pick-up truck and a compact car collided at the intersection. The car had three males in their late teens or early twenties. The pick-up truck had a man in his 40s.

Upon impact two of the sedan's occupants were ejected from the vehicle. One of the ejected males was dead on the scene, the other was transported to North Hawaii Community Hospital with life threatening injuries and died at the hospital.
