Hawaiʻi Island police are investigating a burglary which occurred sometime between (May 28 and May 29) at Umauma Zipline in Ninole.

Suspects broke into the warehouse and removed several items including a 2017 Kawasaki Mule 6-person ATV. The value of the items taken is estimated at $29,895.

On Thursday, March 16, 2017, between 1:20 a.m. and 10:05 a.m., two male suspect’s entered a business in the Kalapana area and removed numerous items.

Hawaiʻi Island police have arrested a 45-year-old man in connection with a burglary January 16 at a county office off Pāhoa Village Road. Patrick Iwanu Hanato of Pāhoa was arrested Tuesday (February 14) and charged with second-degree burglary and second-degree theft. His bail was set at $20,000.

Hawaiʻi Island police are asking for the public’s help in providing information about a burglary at a farm warehouse in Keaʻau last year.

Numerous large items were removed from the warehouse on Keaʻau Ranch Road in the late hours of September 16, including a utility trailer, 350- and 500-gallon plastic chemtanks and a John Deere off-road vehicle. A Ford pickup truck also was removed. The truck has since been recovered.

Hawaiʻi Island police are investigating a reported burglary in Pāhoa over the weekend.

At 2:14 p.m. Monday (January 16), Puna patrol officers responded to an active burglary at a county office off Pāhoa Village Road.

A 64-year-old woman reported that she encountered two men in the building who were portraying themselves as maintenance workers. As she went to call police, both suspects fled the area. Police determined that computer equipment valued in excess of $200 had been stolen.
