The Kona Community Aquatic Center will be closed Monday and Tuesday so a necessary inspection may be conducted.
Intended to ensure peak operating efficiency, the inspection is expected to be completed in time for the Department of Parks and Recreation to reopen the swimming pool as scheduled at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, October 3.

The Kona Community Aquatic Center closed on Sunday (March 25) after fecal matter was discovered in the pool. Victor McDaniel, District Supervisor for Parks and Recreation, said due to the Kuhio Day state holiday the pool was closed not scheduled to be open on Monday and remains closed today after a mechanical problem prevented the pool from bringing the water to the safety standard for operation.
