Jason Braswell, of Kailua-Kona, won the 2011 Volcano Art Center Rain Forest Half-Marathon on Saturday.
His time of 1:23:10 just pipped Pete Boksanski, of Kapolei, who came in at 1:23:36.
Volcano’s Lyman Perry rounded out the top three at 1:24:53.
On the women’s side, it was a Big Island sweep. Rani Tanimoto, of Keakalekua, won in 1:27:51.
Trailing her were Kimberley Pierce, of Hilo, at 1:38:48 and Elda Carreon, of Kailua-Kona, at 1:44:43.

An estimated 1,800 runners of all ages and abilities will be competing for prize money, participating for health and enjoyment, and raising money for charity.
Start and Finish at the Keauhou Beach Resort just south of Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii.
The Kona Marathon is a Boston qualifier.

On Saturday (April 9), runners and walkers will be on the road in Keaau approximately 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. On Sunday (April 10), participants will be on the road between approximately 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. in Kona for the 2011 Troy Barboza Law Enforcement Torch Run/Walk for Special Olympics.
