Pōhakuloa Training Area will open several areas to bow hunting on Saturday Feb. 9 and Sunday Feb. 10. There will be no bird hunting.

Training Areas 1-4 and 9-15 will be open for archery mammal hunting. The Keamuku parcel will be open for archery hunting of pigs and goats only. No hunting or rams or sheep allowed. All hunting areas will be open from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day; no early access is permitted. Hunters must check out by 7:30 p.m. each day.

Kaohe Game Management Area (GMA) is an archery unit for game mammals with no bag limit for sheep and goats. To increase public harvest efficiency of feral goats and sheep, DLNR’s Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) is allowing the use of muzzleloaders for licensed hunters by permit.
