HI-PAL Youth Volleyball Clinic brings college coaching to Ka‘u

Seventy-two youths participated in the HI-PAL Youth Volleyball Clinic held December 1 at the new Kaʻū District Gym in Pāhala. Hawaiʻi Island police are advising the public to be aware of large numbers of runners on major highways between Hilo and South Kohala on Friday and Saturday (October 14 and October 15).

The runners are participating in the Ragnar relay race, which began on Friday and is scheduled to run until Saturday or until the relay runners complete a 200-mile course.

The Hawai‘i County Department of Parks and Recreation announces it will close the Dr. Ruth E. Oda Playground, located in Hilo’s Lincoln Park, from Monday, October 10, through Monday, October 31, so it may upgrade the safety surfacing and replace worn playground components.

Other areas of Lincoln Park will remain open daily, including the pavilions and restrooms.
