Police seek man wanted on three bench warrants

Hawaiʻi Island police are renewing their request for information about a 28-year-old man who is wanted on three bench warrants.

Michael James Varize also known as Lawrence Fujioka, also known as Larry Fujioka, also known as “Mikey Boy”—is wanted for probation violation and two counts of contempt of court. He is also wanted for questioning in numerous other investigations. He may be in the North Kohala, South Kohala or Hāmākua District.

He is described as 5-foot-11, 145 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.

Police caution the public not to approach him. Instead, anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Crime Stoppers is a volunteer program run by ordinary citizens who want to keep their community safe. Crime Stoppers doesn’t record calls or subscribe to caller ID. Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
