At about 5 p.m. Tuesday (Sept 13) Hilo’s Bayfront Highway was closed to traffic in the north bound lanes due to a crash that sent a car over the side of the shoreline of Hilo Bay teetering on the edge. Resident Gary Petrison said he saw at least two people taken away by a medic unit for treatment after the single vehicle crash.
