Water shut-off in Kona begining Wednesday night (Sept 7)

MEDIA RELEASE

All water services will be shut-off along Hawaii Belt Road from St. John Road to Capt. Cook Road (including C.K. Subdivision, Keōpuka Mauka Road, Keōpuka Heights Road, Haku Nui Road, Hind Drive, Piko Road, Keōpuka Road), along Middle Ke‘ei Road, Nāpō‘Po‘o Road (including ‘Ieke Place, Ka ‘Uala Place, Makahiki Lane); South Kona, Hawaii.

Note: Kealakekua Bay Estates will experience low water pressure.

Water will be temporarily turned off in the above- mentioned area from 10 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 to 3 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016, to make a waterline connection for the Nāpō‘po‘o Road/Māmalahoa Highway Intersection Improvements.

Upon resumption of water service, the waterlines will be flushed and cleaned during which time you may notice turbid and/or discolored water.

You may also notice trapped air in your plumbing which will be released as you initially use water.

Affected customers are asked to take any and all precautions necessary to protect the customers’ property and facilities including, but not limited to, disabling electrical power to pumps and/or any other devices whose normal operation may be dependent on water pressure and/or water supply, and which might be harmed if automatically energized during the water shut- off.

Please pardon these temporary inconveniences. If you have any questions, please call Robert Ravenscraft, District Supervisor, at 322-0600.
