Hawaiʻi Island police are investigating the theft of a car from Kailua-Kona.

On August 6 between 6:45 a.m. and 7:15 a.m., a gold Subaru Outback was removed from the parking lot of a shopping center on the 75-5800 block of Aliʻi Drive.

Officers want to question a man whose image was captured on a surveillance camera. Police ask anyone who knows his identity to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311 and ask for Officer Erich Jackson.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Crime Stoppers is a volunteer program run by ordinary citizens who want to keep their community safe. Crime Stoppers doesn’t record calls or subscribe to caller ID. Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
