Hawaiʻi Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a shoplifting case last month.
Just after midnight on April 21, an unidentified man was observed removing a pair of sunglasses, valued at $15.59, from a display rack and proceeding out of a store in Kalapana without paying.
He is described as Caucasian, 20-30 years old, between 5-foot-8 and 6-feet tall, approximately 180 pounds with short brown hair, a mustache and a goatee.
His image was captured on a surveillance camera.
Police ask anyone who recognizes him to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311 or contact Officer Jeremy Riddle at 965-2715.
Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
