Police investigate decomposed body found in Hawaiian Paradise Park

MEDIA RELEASE

Hawaiʻi Island police are investigating the discovery of human remains in the Puna District.

On Saturday, (January 23) detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigation Section discovered human remains in the area of Beach Road off Makuʻu Drive in the Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision. Detectives suspect foul play in this case, which is currently classified as a coroner’s inquest.

Due to the advanced state of decomposition, neither an identity nor a gender could be readily determined.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday (January 26) to determine the exact cause of death.
