Police are searching for a Kona man wanted on warrants

Hawaiʻi Island police are searching for a 38-year-old Kona man who is wanted on two bench warrants.

Ronald Barawis Jr. of Kailua-Kona is wanted for violating parole and failure to appear. He is also wanted for questioning in another investigation.

He is described as 5-foot-9, 140 pounds with brown eyes, dark brown hair and a large tattoo on the right side of his face.

Police caution the public not to approach him as he may be armed and dangerous. Instead, anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Crime Stoppers is a volunteer program run by ordinary citizens who want to keep their community safe. Crime Stoppers doesn’t record calls or subscribe to caller ID.
