Police locate a Kona man wanted on a warrant

Hawaiʻi Island police have located 25-year-old Nicholas Volpa of Kailua-Kona, who was wanted on a bench warrant.

He was arrested Sunday (October 4) and charged with contempt of court.

He was also arrested on suspicion of theft and abuse of a family/household member. He is being held at the Kona police cellblock while those investigations continue.

Hawaiʻi Island police are searching for a 25-year-old Kona man wanted on a bench warrant for contempt of court.

Nicholas Volpa of Kailua-Kona is also wanted for questioning in connection with theft, abuse and burglary cases.

He is described as 6-feet tall, 170 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.

Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Crime Stoppers is a volunteer program run by ordinary citizens who want to keep their community safe. Crime Stoppers doesn’t record calls or subscribe to caller ID.
