Police are searching for an absent extended furlough inmate

HILO – Extended furlough inmate Joshua Lopes-Keli failed to report to Hale Nani Reintegration Center in Hilo for his scheduled check-in at 3:30 p.m. State Sheriffs and Hawaii Police were notified.

Inmates in the extended furlough program live and work outside of the facility but must check in at various times throughout the month.

Lopes-Keli is serving time for Second Degree Robbery. Escape 2 is expected to be added to his charges. His next parole hearing was scheduled for October.

26-year old Lopes-Keli is classified as community custody which is the lowest custody level. He is 6’5” and 277 lbs. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who sees Lopes-Keli is urged to call 911.
