By Hawaii 24/7 Staff

Fire/rescue crews responded to an 11:52 a.m. alarm Sunday (July 12) to 17-611 Paahana Street in Keaau for a structure fire.

Crews arrived to find a 1,056 square foot single story home with fire and smoke coming out of the roof. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire 13 minutes after arriving on the scene.

An elderly couple evacuated the home on their own and did not need medical attention.
