Police continue to search for a Hilo woman wanted on a bench warrant

Hawaiʻi Island police are renewing their request for the public’s help in locating a 19-year-old Hilo woman wanted on an outstanding bench warrant. Cristinalynn Kainani Wakita is wanted for contempt of court. She is also wanted for questioning in other investigations. She is described as 5-foot-4, 117 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.

Hawaiʻi Island police are asking for the public’s helping in providing information about a suspicious fire at an unoccupied house in the Puna District.

In the early hours of June 12, police and firefighters responded to a house on North Glenwood Road in Kurtistown, one-tenth of a mile in from Route 11, to find the structure totally engulfed in flames. Upon further investigation it was determined that the house had been vacant for some time and was unoccupied.
