HI-PAL “Click It or Ticket” Basketball Championships results

One-hundred seventy-two youths from 25 teams participated in the HI-PAL Panaʻewa Benefit “Click It or Ticket” Basketball Championships this past weekend at Panaʻewa Park.

In the 10-and-under division, NSP claimed the title, Andrews Hawks were runners-up and Fly Girls finished third. Members of the championship NSP squad included Tamatasi Sauta, Daniel Remsen, Skyler Caravalho, Ryzen Bautista-Cazimero, Landon Kauka, Kayzen Htner, Hezekiah Wilson, Easton Hoshida, Layden Kauka, Keale Valenzuela and Trevor Figueroa.

NSP also claimed the 12-and-under title, with Man Up finishing second and Stingrays third. Members of the championship NSP squad included Oshe Cazimero, Koby Agbayani, Laakea kauka, Tre Walker, Moses Emeliano, Molonai Emeliano, Zhane Ching and Keone Barco.

In the 14-and-under division, Shut D claimed the title, Hoop Dreams were runners-up and Stingrays placed third. Members of the championship Shut D squad included Shrew Lalley, Micah Low, Elijah Antonio, Zayden Tolentino, Javan Motta, Howard Robert, Kainoa Jones and Kelsen Walker.

In the Rising Stars Division for 8th through 10th graders, N One claimed the title, Hoop Dreams finished second and Hilo Vikings claimed third. Members of the championship N-One squad included Justin Cabanilla, Chance Simeona, Jax Uyemura, Teyson Ishimoto, Wesley Amuimuia, Justin Tavares, Shaun Kojima, Ken Bugado, Jen Uyeda and Jace Nagao.

“Click It or Ticket” is a national education and enforcement campaign to increase seat belt usage and decrease traffic fatalities and injuries. The Hawaiʻi Police Department encourages all youth, teens and adults to use their seat belts.
