Woman involved in police shooting case is charged with numerous offenses

Hawaiʻi Island police have charged the 25-year-old Hilo woman who was arrested after a non-fatal officer-involved shooting in Hilo on Saturday (April 11).

Cherish Torres was charged Monday (April 13) with unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, first-degree criminal property damage and five traffic offenses. Her bail was set at $36,075.

She remains in the Hilo police cellblock pending her initial court appearance scheduled for Tuesday (April 14).
