Military convoys to travel between PTA and Hilo

POHAKULOA TRAINING AREA, Hawaii – Oahu-based service members will convoy between Pōhakuloa Training Area and Keaukaha Military Reservation, beginning March 4.

Convoys will travel from PTA to KMR, March 4, 5 and 8, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Convoys will travel from KMR to PTA, March 5 and 7, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Convoys will use Hilo Airport Road, Kanoelehua Avenue (Highway 11), West Puainako Street, Komohana Avenue, Puainako Extension Route 2000 and the Daniel K. Inouye Highway.

The Hawaii Police Department will escort the convoys. Motorists are advised to be alert and drive with care.

The PTA Department of Army police are working closely with local authorities and military units to coordinate this activity in support of unit training.
