The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a flood advisory for the Big Island until 7:30 p.m. Tuesay (July 22).

At 6:12 p.m. weather radar showed slow moving heavy showers on th eKona slopes between Puuanahulu and Keahole Point.

The advisory may be extended beyond 7:30 p.m. should heavy rains persist.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle or on foot. Turn around, don’t drown.

Also a small craft advisory is in effect through 6 p.m. Thursday (July 24) for the Pailolo and Alenuihaha Channels along with Maalaea Bay and waters South of the Big Island.
