Mamalahoa Highway in Onomea re-opens after being closed due to crash Thursday (May 1)

Highway 19 near the 9 mile mark in Pepeekeo is now open to one lane of traffic. Expect delays and drive with caution.

Hawaii County Police report Mamalahoa Highway (Route 19) is closed near the nine-mile-marker due to a traffic crash. Motorists are being asked to avoid the area due to traffic delays.

Because of the crash and emergency vehicles in the area traffic is being detoured via the Old Onomea Road, scenic roadway, it is unknown as to when Mamalahoa Highway will reopen to normal traffic.
