A fire destroyed a home Wednesday evening along Pahoa-Kalapana Road (Highway 130).

Firefighters arrived at 6:45 p.m. to find the single-story, three-bedroom home near Black Sands Beach subdivision engulfed in flames.

It took firefighters about 40 minutes to knock down the fire.

Damage was estimated at $125,000.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
