MEDIA RELEASE

On Wednesday (October 23), Hawaiʻi Police Department School Resource Officer Bryan Tina and HI-PAL Officer Joseph Botelho Jr. held the 2nd annual Vikings Football Clinic at Hilo Intermediate School.

Twenty-eight students from Kalanianaole Elementary School, Hilo Union School and Hilo Intermediate School participated in seven different football drills and skills. Hilo High School Vikings football coach David Baldwin and 16 members of the Hilo High School football squad coached the young participants.

This activity was created last year through a combined effort by Officer Tina and Coach Baldwin. Coach Baldwin said, “Having our players give back to the younger kids and the community through an activity such as this can only benefit everyone involved.”
